Honorary Chair-Anne Marie Picone is a pharmacist specializing in consulting and education, living in the greater Moncton area. She is being honored by the 2019 DNA Swag Ladies Hoop Classic Committee for her outstanding contribution to the basketball community. As a parent of two female basketball alumni and a former basketball coach for MKMBA from 2006-2010, she also served as part of Ladies Hoop Classic Committee from 2013-2015 and was the Ladies Hoop Classic Bursary Committee Chair from 2015-2019.

Along with her extensive community involvement, including her many leadership roles with parent committees at Moncton High School, Anne Marie has received numerous awards. She has received the Wyeth Community Health Care, Bowl of Hygeia in 2004, Canadian Pharmacists’ Association top 100 pharmacists in Canada who have made significant contributions to the profession of pharmacy in the past 100 years in 2007, the Anne Marie Picone Ford Award for Dedication from Bessborough School in 2012 and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the New Brunswick Sailing Association in 2015.

Anne Marie truly loves the kids and watching them grow their basketball skills.   She says: “To me it was all about having fun and learning to play as a team, not focusing on the win”.  She also believes we all have a responsibility to give back to our communities in some way and to work together positively, without judgement.  Her favorite quote is: "If you can imagine it you can achieve it ; if you dream it you can become it".
